Faction Warfare - Idle Chit-Chat

The best thing about faction warfare are the people, on both sides of the war. The enemies are as cool and friendly as the allies. Interesting chit-chat happens with everyone.

Today I'm doing faction warfare missions in my stealth bomber, because I need 254300 loyalty points by Sunday evening UTC. Big Minmatar plans in the works.

I arrive in Haras for a particular mission. Only two people in local. A Viatan Velic of Fweddit, and a Viata Velic of no affiliation, just an NPC corp.

I decide to chat this guy up. Pass the time. He's just doing a minor plex. My mission is to kill four industrial ships, so I know I'm going to be awhile. For some reason, it takes a fuck-tonne of torpedoes to kill industrials in these missions. It's really annoying, so annoying that I'm considering skipping those missions altogether in the future. I end up using about 30 torps per industrial, 120 or so total. (Most other missions, I use 5 to 10 torpedoes.) And this is just the L3 missions, since my standings weren't quite at 5.0 yet.

I probably should broadcast over the Militia channel that a Fweddit is plexing in one of our systems, but it doesn't really strike me as that big a deal. It's just him, and he's doing minors. Plus, I imagine not too many people are going to be interested in coming all the way down to Haras to try to pop one Thrasher.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't yet know what I'm flying. My mission is over 15AU from his minor plex. But I need to take a quick AFK and need to know he isn't hunting me. I've lost a few stealth bombers in mission pockets. For some reason, aligning and getting up to speed takes a long damned time in my Nemesis while the afterburner is running, and it seems whenever some chucklehead decides to come get me, they land in the pocket just as my afterburner is just starting a new cycle. Turning it off isn't instantaneous, I have to wait through the entire cycle, and by then they've MWD'd to me, pointed me, and then it's all over. Torpedoes don't do shit worth of damage to a fast moving frigate.

I decide to keep him busy worrying about me, rather than me worrying about him.

I'm bored with shooting industrials. I have two of them down now. Since I'm really bad at EVE Online, and since I'm used to losing expensive stealth bombers, I decide to head over to his minor plex, maybe see if I can get a kill. Like I said, torpedoes do crap-all damage to fast moving frigates, so I'm likely setting up my own loss.

Being bad at EVE Online means I forget that stealth bombers aren't allowed into minor outposts.

On the way back to Dal, faction warfare flipped back the right way 'round. The universe became chaotic, disharmonious once again. Dogs and cats no longer living together.
