You'd be suprised about the number of people who fly freighters into lowsec. If you ever get really bored, sit a cloaky alt on a major lowsec entry point and watch it for a week. The amont of derp that comes through will astound you.
ReplyDeleteI could see doing it from Otelen to Huola, as long as you had the thing completely scouted out. Jump, align, warp, dock. That would be the extent that I'd risk a freighter in lowsec. Taking it more than a system deep, is foolhardy.

I've caught some interesting derps coming into Ouelletta from Juvitte. The stupidity abounds.

DeleteOther than that, usually just people fucking up autopilot routes, or misclicking gate etc. The people who mean to do it scout it.
Use an in-corp alt with webbing ship for Insta-warp goodness plus a scout. Can be done if you are careful.
ReplyDeleteI've flown freighters into LS plenty of times. It's much easier to find a Null > LS WH route than a Null > HS WH that allows freighters. So you scout and run the freighter with a mouse hovering over the X in the corner. You also don't pick any system with any hint of activity. (By the way, multiple systems unscouted still isn't too dangerous. Just log while gate cloaked and they only have 60s to kill you. Then, ofc, you have to wait for them to stop camping your logoff site.)
