Why Fweddit?

People often ask me, "Why Fweddit? Why would you join with a bunch of baddies and sperglords?"

I never thought I would. Because I too thought of them as baddies and sperglords. Having been here a month now, I can say, quite honestly, that Fweddit is simply misunderstood. They still carry around a lot of Test Alliance baggage, which is undeserving. They're Fweddit. Nothing else.

For me, one of the most important reasons to join a corporation are the comms. They have to have people online at nearly every hour of the day. So, a mid-sized corp at the very least. A sense of strong comraderie is important. And fun. Comms must be fun.

It's not that Autocannons Anonymous' comms were bad. They weren't. But there wasn't a strong sense of community. Autoz members were generally spread out over Minmatar Militia comm channels, so there weren't people to chat with whenever one might feel like chatting. There was no strong sense of comraderie. There were certainly good people on Minmatar comms. Some of the folks from Iron Oxide. Transmaritanus. Vordak Kallager. Hans Jagerblitzen. Susan Black (when she was not in a password protected channel.)  Autocannon's was a good environment, just not my ideal environment.

My sense of Fweddit, before I had any idea what their comms were actually like, was that it was probably just twenty DurrHurrDurr's yelling over each other, trying to out-shock in an ever escalating war of racist and sexist badness.

Six weeks ago when Pinky and Rina invited me to join their comms, I was naturally reticent. After a week of humming and hawing, I finally gave in. Curiosity was killing this cat.

I was surprised. Just a bunch of normal guys. Joking around with each other. Running fleets. And the comraderie seemed especially strong. I was immediately drawn to it. Even though they kept asking "When you joining Fweddit, Poe?" they really had no idea that I'd already decided that I was going to join them sooner rather than later. I was just going to wait for another Minmatar T5 cash-out. When that happened, I posted my farewell on the Autoz forums, made sure I was not burning bridges, and headed north to Ishomilken.

So, what are the comms like?

Just some general joshing around.

We really are better than this. Honestly. No really.

This is the sort of sperg everyone expects of Fweddit comms. This is actually the first sperg I've heard since being in Fweddit.

Even if these fuckers and sperglords and baddies decide to finally head out to Cobalt Reach, I know I'll follow.
