So, this month I'm going to put more time into finding 1v1 fights. I expect I'll be losing ships faster and more frequently than I have in any other month since I began faction warfare. I suppose I shouldn't say I expect I'll lose a lot of ships, rather I know I'm going to lose a lot of ships.

I pretty much suck at PvP. Well, maybe I shouldn't go that far. I still don't think I'm very good, but I'm probably not quite as terrible as I was back in June. I expect there'll be a lot of trial and error as I slowly improve.

(I have a 1v1 victory back in March against an EVE University pilot, but I grossly outskilled that guy, so don't really consider it legit. And I have some 1v1 victories against Fweddit corpmates, but don't consider those legit either, more like awoxes in jest.)

Tonight, I decided I start things off in my blingy 71M ISK Navy Comet. Most of those C-type mods are probably unnecessary, but I wanted to build something ridiculous. I like Navy Comets. It just seems appropriate to throw expensive mods on them.

The most annoying part, for me, regarding 1v1s is actually finding them. This is where plexes should come in handy, but unfortunately the last few months of faction warfare has taught most people that heading to a plex is not a place to find a fight, but a place to chase off a farmer. Hopefully this mindset will slowly change over time, especially once more of the iterations and fixes come down at the Retribution release.

Until December 4th, when spawns will change, my high Minmatar standings make sitting in plexes convenient. I give no fucks about actually running down a timer, and the rats don't shoot at me, so I've no real interest in shooting at them. So I can sit there and wait. The waiting, of course, is what kills me. And eventually I just resort to local, inviting people over to my location.

That said, I didn't get my fight of the evening in a plex. But on a gate, while heading home, having given up on a punch-up happening.

A Republic Fleet Firetail. I did make two mistakes. The first, forgetting to overheat my blasters. The second, heading straight at the enemy, not bothering much about transversal. At least I remembered to launch my drones.

Pocos are one of the best features added by CCP in the last year. Not only moving more of the economy into player hands, but pocos are an excellent way to get scheduled fights.

Although, yesterday, more running away, than fighting. Shadow Cartel have been plowing through lowsec in and around the Minmatar/Amarr faction warzone putting pocos into reinforced on the more uncommon, thus lucrative, planets. Our poco, on a plasma planet, in Aliette was in danger, and we rallied. It didn't turn out very good for us, and after losing some ships, ran away. The plan was to warp to and fro on grid, and maybe pop single ships. We weren't going to stop them, but the plan was to make it expensive.

Back at Egghelende, we discussed what might be necessary, but apparently taking on 100mn Tengus is a difficult proposition at best, especially given what most of us can fly. We stood down the fleet.

We'll probably start harassing Shadow Cartel pocos, try to come up with a viable harassing fleet comp.

I was contracted my Tuskers FFA prize the other day. A Phantasm. My Amarr ship skills are lousy. I have Amarr Frigate II, and that's it. So I gifted it to a corpmate for 20% under Jita prices. Thanks Tuskers, for the FFA and for the cool prize.
