Bug Hunting: Anyone Experiencing this Camera Tracking Bug
First of all, make sure you have your camera tracking set-up so that your camera automatically tracks to any object/ship/celestial that you select on your overview. So, any item that you click on your overview, the camera will immediately track to it. Also make sure that your Lock Target shortcut is set to the default (which I believe is the CTRL key.)
Make sure you're in space. You obviously cannot test this while docked.
Now, press ESC and go to the Shortcut tab, and then the Combat tab. Right click on Lock Target and clear it. It should now be set to (None). Close the escape window.
Now start clicking objects/ships/celestials on your overview. If the bug is not just limited to my client, then the camera auto-tracking should no longer be working. Click on an item and the camera now does nothing.
Open the escape window again (press ESC), and set your Lock Target shortcut to CTRL once again. Close the escape window. Start clicking items on your overview. The camera's auto-tracking should once again be functional.
If this is widespread, I'll submit a bug report.
For those curious why I would clear my Lock Target shortcut, it's because I was setting the Toggle Lock Target shortcut to CTRL instead, which allows targeting and untargeting of ships/items/objects a lot more quickly and cleanly. When I was making this change the other day, I immediately noticed that my camera tracking stopped working. Which was annoying, because I quite like auto-tracking.
