The shout-out is basically an advertisement.
I'm not charging for the space or anything insidious like that. I've never collected any money (in-game or out-of-game) for this blog in the past, and I won't start with this new little feature. I have a bit of a readership, so why not give some added exposure to other EVE related items and events.
As you can see, I'm starting out by adding a shout-out to the Crossing Zebras podcast. A podcast I'm currently loving. A podcast that I believe should have an even larger listener base than it already has. It hits on everything I want in a podcast. I think other people will find its quality to be as excellent as I do. So, I'm giving it some free advertising, because I think it deserves it.
If you're running an event, and you'd like some added exposure, then I may add you to the circulation. I, of course, reserve the right to not add your advertisement for whatever reason I want. Now it would have to be a terrible event for me not too add it. Or it would have to be very localized. I'm not going to add a shout-out to the next Seattle Player's Meet, for example. But something with a much broader base, such as EVE Vegas, I may very well do that. There's also frigate free-for-alls and the like. Even Burn Jita and Hulkageddon-type events.
I don't care who is running the event, whether it be Hans Jagerblitzen, Kelduum Revaan or Alekseyev Karrde. Personal differences will not matter in this regard.
If you have an EVE-related event or item you'd like a bit of extra advertising on, then send me the link to the event/item, and a 216x216 image. Make sure the image looks good, I'm not going to stick ugly shit up in that space. And then I'll see what we can do. I'm thinking I'll run most items for a week or two, before switching off to another item or event.

ReplyDeleteProbably not. Would take more of my time to ensure that these new corps weren't scams and the like. And eventually I'm going to get caught out advertising for a scam. I'd rather avoid that road altogether.
