The Xander Phoena CSM Sessions - The First Five

I was doing a single write-up per interview. But it's too much work. The graphic. The many many words. The listening and then re-listening.

So I'm going to do something different for all these interviews that Xander is spitting out. (I believe he's up to twelve of them now. The guy is the "John" of podcasting. I think he's using a bot.)

So I'll do five at a time. A paragraph (or two) of impressions, a link to the interview, and a letter grade. The letter grade is simply a reflection of the quality of the interview and the candidacy presented in that interview.

Mynnna
He has a solid platform. He seemed to have come into the interview wholly unprepared. He may have been expecting an Arydanika or Alekseyev Karrde style interview. He didn't have any previous Xander interviews to judge beforehand, so perhaps it's unfair to have expected him to be ready for the tough questions Xander threw at him. Goonswarm is going to get him elected. That's guaranteed. If you're not Goonswarm, you may want to put your vote to any of the other candidates who are going to need it a lot more.

Interview / B+

Nathan Jameson
A little unsteady in the interview. Hasn't been particularly involved in the general community until he decided on his CSM8 run. He may be well-known within wormhole circles, but not being a wormhole guy, I'll leave that to the wormholers to decide. His focus will be representing wormhole players. He sees the big initiative for the year, pushing POS work. Though he plans to be involved in helping CCP in all areas where they plan development.

Interview / B-

Roc Wieler
Very assured. Very confident. Was able to give smart answers to every question that Xander asked of him. He sounds like the type of guy who would work hard for the playerbase. He has the right mindset going into the CSM. He's not there to push forward his own ideas, but to understand issues from all sides of the debate, and then be the person at the table who can offer the player insight CCP is looking for, because he's familiarized himself with more than just the popular talking points. Although he aims to represent all areas of the game, where players involve him in dialogue, his strengths are in lowsec, roleplaying and CREST.

Interview / A

Marc Scaurus
A solid lowsec candidate. Plans to correct the mistakes of CSM7, feeling that perhaps they spent too much time apologizing for and explaining CCP actions; he wants to be accountable to the players, less to CCP. He feels that one can get the job done without pandering. He still feels there's a lot of work to be done for lowsec, and will ensure to the best of his ability that future development does not screw lowsec. He wants to see lowsec given more meaning, that it exists less in the bubble that it currently does.

Interview / A

Xenuria
He handles himself well enough in the interview. He doesn't come across as a dumb guy, by any stretch. It appeared to me that he might have cribbed Roc's campaign platform, but he doesn't have the force of personality to pull it off. As CSM representative, he probably has too much character history to be anything but a distraction to the process.

Interview / C-
